Beth Griffin has advocated better public policies to improve the lives of children and families nationally and in her home state of Missouri for 30 years. She has provided leadership to nonprofit and public interest organizations on a wide range of issues including health care, poverty, child protection, early care and education, the environment and campaign finance reform.
In her 17 years as executive director of two public policy advocacy organizations and 8 years as an independent government relations consultant, Beth has demonstrated her hands-on ability to promote and secure positive change for organizations and communities. Her success in the public policy arena can be attributed to her policy knowledge and her skills in policy development, lobbying, negotiating, community organizing, public education and program management. Beth's demonstrated ability to work with elected officials, public administrators and community stakeholders has made her a valuable contributor to numerous public commissions, task forces, Boards, coalitions and collaborations. Her clients have included Citizens for Missouri's Children, League of Women Voters of Missouri, Missouri Citizen Action, Missouri Coalition for the Environment, Missouri Association of Nurse Anesthetists and Communications Workers of America – Missouri State Employees.
Beth has been recognized for her deep commitment to economic justice and equal opportunity for children and other vulnerable populations, receiving state and national awards including the Crystal Wagon Award by the Board of Governors of SSM Cardinal Glennon Children's Medical Center, the Child Advocate of the Year Award by the Missouri Alliance for Children, Youth and Families and the U.S. Congressional Angels in Adoption Award.
